Selected grants made by The Portage Foundation - Year 2000 - June 2008 totaling $ 54,337

American Red Cross (Portage County Chapter) - to help fund a program focused on engaging youth in leadership positions that will prepare them to become Red Cross instructors.

Bernie Kosar/Crestwood Schools Scholarship Fund - to provide scholarship assistance to a student.

Boys and Girls Club of Portage County - to provide funds to assist with its after school and summer programs to school age and at risk youth.

Child Health Services of Portage County - to help fund a Child Health Expo for Portage County.

Coleman Professional Services - to assist with the expenses to provide a Resident Health and Safety Training Program.

Community Action Council of Portage County - to assist with expenses associated with the its Even Start program.

Family and Community Services – to provide support to its Healthy Start program and to provide some of the funds needed to leverage a federal grant to build a new Freedom House for homeless veterans in Portage County.

Portage Park District - to assist with the expenses to develop a plan for Portage County that will identify land conservation priorities and development of parks, trails and greenways.

Robinson Memorial Hospital Visiting Nurse and Hospice - to help provide services of the program to patients who don't have insurance of any type and additional services that may not be covered by insurance.

Salvation Army - to assist with the costs to implement its LEAP (Life Enrichment BY Accomplishing Priorities) program.

Sister Jordan Fund at Family and Community Services - to provide support to this fund administered at F&CS, the principal of which is managed through The Portage Foundation.

Skeels Improvement Corporation - to help purchase equipment and materials to be used in The G.R.E.A.T (Grandparents, Reaching, Educating and Teaching) Program.

Smart Community Development Corporation - to assist with the expenses to develop a child friendly and handicap accessible playground in Ravenna for all children in Portage County.

Standing Rock Cultural Arts  - to help support its new World Children's Theater program.

Summit/Portage Leadership Institute - to help support its leadership training program for high school sophomores and juniors.

Townhall II - to provide funds to assist its Medical Clinic for client prescription assistance and capital needs. Also, to help fund a project that will enhance partnerships among Windham Police, the Windham community and local mediation center.

United Way of Portage County - to assist with the costs the agency had in its search for a new Chief Executive Officer.
