ABOUT THE FOUNDATION
In 1997, a group of forward-thinking, dedicated individuals organized to create a permanent fund to support philanthropic needs in Portage County.
With proceeds from the sale of the Greater Portage Area Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice and contributions from more than 200 community donors, The Portage Foundation was born.
Our mission is to acquire, manage, and dispense charitable assets for the benefit of Portage County citizens.
In more than 10 years, we have awarded more that $75,000 to over 35 different programs and have raised a quarter of a million dollars.
We are organized as a tax exempt, public charity and are governed by a Board of Trustees comprised of energetic, professional, and talented volunteers.
